Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)

• "Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)" is a credit-linked subsidy scheme launched by Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). 

• The scheme aims to generate employment opportunities through the establishment of micro-enterprises in the non-farm sector as well as farm sector for rural as well as urban areas.

• Under this scheme, Government will provide a 25% subsidy for Urban area, 35% subsidy for Rural area.

• The scheme is available only for new projects; only one person from a family is eligible for obtaining margin money under the PMEGP.

              Note: The family includes self and spouse. 

•   Minimum age limit is 18, No Maximum age limit.

          Manufacturing sector:

• Project costing up to Rs 50.00 lakhs (Project cost above Rs.10 lakhs the beneficiaries should have passed at least VIII standard)

          Service sector:

• Project costing up to Rs 20.00 lakhs (Project cost above Rs.5 lakh, the beneficiaries should have passed at least VIII standard  

         Subsidy For Special category: -

• Urban areas 25% of Subsidy 

• Rural areas 35% of Subsidy

• Beneficiary's contribution must be 5% in the total Project Cost.

For forward community: - 

• Urban areas 15% of Subsidy 

• Rural areas 25% of Subsidy

• Beneficiary's contribution must be 10% in the total Project Cost.
